My First Post and My Addiction – SMOOTHIES!

Smoothies can be so versatile and easily replace any meal. I like my smoothie in the morning, as my breakfast.

I make them so rich and filling, that it keeps me full until lunch. At least 3 hours.

My base will always be frozen bananas or frozen mangoes. If you still don’t know the frozen banana trick – it is so simple and will make your smoothie so nice and creamy! Just take a very ripe banana, peel it, cut it in 3-4 pieces, and freeze it in a Ziploc bag for at least 4 hours. After it is frozen just put it in the blender with some plant base milk, coco powder and a couple of dates, spoonful of peanut butter, and viola! Chocolate -peanut butter flavored milkshake!

To the frozen bananas, you can add any fruit of your choice: berries, apple, pineapple, cherries…

(Note: you will need a powerful blender to blend frozen bananas.  The cheap ones won’t work and might actually break).

I buy my frozen mangoes at Costco so I have it handy for a quick morning smoothie. It goes really well with a small piece of ginger, some lettuce and chia seeds for extra omega 3 and fiber.

Another favorite of mine is to add pineapple,  a little piece of cauliflower or a small cucumber.

For those of you who likes sweet like me, you can add a date or two (extra energy and fiber). This one I usually make with water, but you can add some plant based milk or a spoonful of almond butter and ice.

I hope you will enjoy your new morning routine as much as I do! Have a wonderful day!
